It’s the shortest day of the year on Saturday, which also means we’re at the halfway point of the Solar Winter (the three months of the year with the lowest amounts of available sunlight). Phil covers the latest on the weather for Matariki on Friday. Don’t forget our FREE WeatherWatch NZ App and also RuralWeather.co.nz have “Cloud/Fog” forecasts under “Trends” for all hours of the day in all parts of NZ. It’s a helpful guide if you want to go stargazing.
The long weekend looks fairly ok for winter, with a few showers in the mix around the country and some temperature fluctuations – and some snow in alpine areas of the South Island.
We have your New Zealand forecast through until Tuesday next week.
