Nothing says Autumn better than a burst of warm sub-tropical rain followed by a cold Southern Ocean southerly.
This weekend we have both affecting New Zealand as a low forms around Auckland and helps drag down sub-tropical air in conjunction with a high out to the North Island’s east.
On Sunday this rain may spread across much of the North Island while dry weather in the South Island gives way to a cold, showery, southerly. Daytime highs on Sunday in the Deep South and Otago may not even make double digits with highs of just 9 degrees possible.
It’s not long lived – but next week looks like a mix of warm and cold days for many parts of the country, especially the south.
