We track the latest from Houston as a years worth of rain is forecast to fall in just days. Already the city of a few million people is underwater and direct flights from Auckland to Houston are cancelled until further notice due to the airport in Houston being closed.
Back in New Zealand and heavy rain in Bay of Plenty kicks off the working week, but a fairly average couple of days are on the way for most others.
As we head towards Wednesday and Thursday low pressure in the Tasman Sea will be growing and expanding over New Zealand bringing a truly messy forecast for September 1st with areas of wind and rain, but also sun and calm.
