It’s a bit cold around the country at the moment but a slightly warmer westerly flow arrives later on Thursday, and by Friday and the weekend, winds swing back to milder north to north west.
This will encourage showers in the west turning to rain this weekend with heavy falls, but the flip side will mean eastern areas will warm up into the weekend as brisk to strong nor’westers kick back in again.
This weekend, there is a chance of both wind and rain warnings, although the wind warnings look pretty borderline.
