Weather Video: High pressure this week has a puncture = daily downpours

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A large area of high pressure is around New Zealand for the next several days but it comes with a bit of a disclaimer – it may not be a perfect high.

A small area of low pressure is caught up within this which means New Zealand we see daily downpours and perhaps even some afternoon thunderstorms.

The bulk of this weather looks focused inland and around the North Island. It’s a similar forecast heading into this weekend too. Driest weather will be in the southern half of the South Island, good news after a wet several weeks there.
