Weather Video: Big high rolls in as forecasters monitor big weekend low

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The weather across New Zealand over the next few days is going to be stunning for most regions with no shortage of sunshine and light winds but also some pretty cold nights and mornings with frosts quite widespread in sheltered areas tonight/Wednesday morning.

However northerlies develop by the end of the week ahead of a large low coming in for the weekend.

The exact forecast for the long weekend is still being worked out but generally speaking rain or showers will affect northern NZ while southern NZ may be sunniest and driest.
