Weather Video: A colder southerly coming for NZ while another cyclone forms to our north

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The weather pattern is an exceptionally busy one at the moment around the New Zealand area even if our weather has been fairly quiet this past week.

This weekend there are three tropical systems, ex-cyclone Iris (now Tropical Low Iris) remains in the Coral Sea (2 weeks now!) and may be there for another week.

Ex-cyclone Josie remains to the north east of NZ and poses no threat to land here meanwhile this weekend a new tropical cyclone is forming near Vanuatu and drifts in to marine parts of the NZ area next week.

High pressure currently over New Zealand slips away this weekend and early next week for a time allowing a colder southerly to spread across NZ, with the coldest weather in the lower half of the South Island.
