Weather settling down into the weekend – The Big Picture on Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The large ridge of high pressure stretching out from a high in the Tasman Sea brings mainly settled conditions for much of New Zealand on Friday.

A south to southeasterly airflow around this ridge may bring some cloud and the chance of a shower or two to Gisborne & Northland during the day.

Southland at the other end of the country sees westerly winds, cloudy areas and the odd shower – mainly in the morning.
It will be cold both morning and night – especially for inland areas – with the chance of another frost.
