Here’s what is making the weather headlines this weekend.
THIS COMING WEEK – DRY IN THE EAST
Finally some dry weather is moving in this coming week for eastern regions with a period of mild northwesterly airflow’s likely Monday onwards. This will be good for the eastern South Island which could do with some drier weather at the moment.
This precipitation percentage of normal map below which goes out to Saturday 6th August shows eastern regions are looking drier than normal (red) while the West Coast is wetter than normal (blue). Interestingly a fair chunk of the North Island is looking drier than normal also but we are looking to be in pretty good shape around the country at the moment so no issues there.
Heavy rain returns to where it normally is at this time of year – mostly Fiordland and Westland.
