Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.
RAIN MOVES IN – WEST COAST
Expect rain for the West Coast today south of Greymouth, rain moves in north of Greymouth later on. The western North Island sees some rain later today or overnight.
Nothing overly heavy expected but South Westland and parts of north Taranaki may see persistent falls.
WARM IN THE EAST AND NORTH
Thanks to a northerly quarter airflow eastern regions and the upper North Island will likely see temperatures in the early to mid twenties.
Temperatures for the West Coast are a bit cooler, in the mid to late teens.
RAIN DEVELOPS IN THE EAST ON WEDNESDAY
A south to southwesterly change pushes up the east coast of the South Island on Wednesday bringing rain or showers, a chance about North Otago through to Marlborough showers may be heavy with thunderstorms and hail.
The eastern North Island has some scattered rain, spreading from the west during the day as a front slowly moves on through then clearing in the evening. Wellington and Warariapa see rain later in the day or overnight with a southerly change.
