For any current watches or warnings from Metservice check out this page here.
WEATHER ON SUNDAY
Weak high pressure for most, an area of low pressure bringing rain or showers to Central New Zealand during the morning pushes away to the south in the afternoon.
North Island
Dy for most in the morning although one or two coastal showers is possible, a mix of sun and cloud with light winds and afternoon sea breeezes. Morning rain for Wellington though, this clears by midday. Showers form in the afternoon about Taranaki down through to Wellington and Wairarapa, especially away from coastal parts. Some of these showers may become heavy with thunder then easing later in the evening.
South Island
Some cloud in the west and about the far south, mainly dry though, mostly sunny in the east. Nelson has morning cloud with the chance of a spit then clearing to afternoon sun, Marlborough and perhaps the Kaikoura area has rain in the morning with the chance of a heavy fall then clearing to afternoon sun.
