Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.
HEAVY RAIN WEST COAST
Heavy rain can be expected for the West Coast today south of about Greymouth, watches and warnings are in from Metservice, please see them here.
SOME MORNING FOG, NORTH ISLAND
A ridge of high pressure over the North Island today brings settled weather this morning, this is a good recipe for fog for some inland areas. Fog clears away this morning as the day starts to heat up.
NORTHWESTERLIES STRENGTHEN THROUGH COOK STRAIT
An area of low pressure moves out of the Tasman Sea into the West Coast today, this causes the pressure gradient about central New Zealand to tighten up and northwesterly winds strengthen through Cook Strait.
