Warmth has returned to New Zealand today as a large low in the Tasman Sea fuels warmer northerlies across the country.
The humidex, which calculates the temperature plus humidity to work out a ‘feels like’ temperature, has reached the low to mid 20s in some centres.
In the past hour Auckland reached 22 degrees on the humidex with Whangarei on 23.
It was 17 in Hamilton, Gisborne, Levin and Kaikoura while Lower Hutt had 16 along with Tauranga.
The cold air is still affecting southern New Zealand with 12 in Dunedin and 11 in Invercargill.

…..also, we have been in Auckland four years today! We love it just here and definately love the mild winters, mild compared to the UK anyway! Its easy to forget how cold it can be over there, I’m looking forward to springtime already and at least we always get a summer here! :o))

Certainly was warmer, top temp here today in Beachlands was 20.2°C at: 11:53 with the humidex at 21.1 and humidity around 82%. It was nice not to get soaking wet on the walk to school! :o)
