The weather for the next few days should be much warmer across a number of regions reports WeatherWatch.co.nz.

A large area of low pressure, which will stall over the New Zealand region, is expected to feed winds from the northerly quarter for the next two days then predominantly north west heading into the weekend.

It will mean a mild end to the week for most areas, especially eastern parts of both islands.

Overnight lows will also lift.

However as the low moves further east towards Sunday a cold south east wind is expected about Southland and Otago – possibly Canterbury as well.

Before the south east change arrives highs in the South Island’s east coast should jump into the mid, possibly late, teens while late teens or even low 20s are possible in northern and eastern parts of the North Island later this week, predicts WeatherWatch.co.nz.
