Warm summer afternoon

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Temperatures across much of the nation are warm and summer-like despite not all skies being clear.

Palmerston North and Gisborne are top of the stakes with 30 degrees, closely followed by Ohakea on 29 and Wanganui 28. Much of the remainder of the North island and northern and eastern areas of the mainland are in the low to mid 20s.

Tonight a sticky one is expected for many folk as humidity levels remain quite high in the north of the country.

This afternoon readings in the mid teens are covering much of inland Otago and Southland, as low cloud and drizzle affects a few areas.
