By Thursday warmer westerlies will be moving in with another late cold change reaching the lower South Island into the afternoon.
On Friday high pressure continues to build over the country easing winds – frost patches possible overnight, especially in the South Island.
This weekend sees high pressure dominating most of New Zealand and apart from a couple of remaining coastal showers in the north most places should be calm and dry.
