Spring is throwing everything at us over the next week with snow, rain, showers and plenty of sunshine and warmth all mixed up in the NZ forecast.
Put simply, westerly gales are about to solidly set in across New Zealand with the South Island and lower half of the North Island (the Roaring Forties) most exposed.
Winds may become briefly damaging / severe gale for a time inland and to the east next week – but these windy surges are moving through so expect mornings to be different to afternoons etc! Most of the rain is on the West Coast, but Southland is getting spillover too.
We have your rain and snow maps, plus wind maps out to next Wednesday.
