The world’s largest volcano, named Tamu Massif, has been discovered underwater about a thousand miles east of Japan.
The volcano is the size of US state New Mexico, and is now the second largest in our solar system, behind Olympus Mons on Mars.
At a depth of around 6,500 feet below the surface, scientists say there could be more discoveries in the near future, and we know next to nothing about the geography of our ocean floors.
