Oman and the UAE are being impacted by a tropical cyclone today and tomorrow with some areas over Oman forecast to receive 500mm of rain – when the nation usually receives 80 to 100mm per year.

We track Hurricane Sam, a low impacting the UK, Norway and Iceland and also a very unusual area of high pressure in the Southern Ocean encouraging sub-tropical airflows all the way to Antarctica…. what the heck!?
