A big storm in the Southern Ocean will roar past NZ across Friday and Saturday bringing in a significant temperature drop and gales across both main islands.
It’s short and sharp – clearing away on Sunday with hotter airflows from Australia kicking in for Sunday and Monday.
Waitangi Day looks settled for most of NZ with high pressure in charge of many regions, perhaps just some rain around Haast on the West Coast.
