VIDEO: Special Update: Storm finally clearing NZ on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

More severe weather is expected today across both main islands as a major low pressure zone brushes southern NZ.

The storm is tracking away from NZ today and by the end of Tuesday will have far less influence on our weather, after nearly a week of producing pockets of severe weather.

According to MetService there have been over 111,000 lightning strikes in the NZ area and eastern Tasman Sea in the past week!

We track thunderstorms for today/Monday – and the outlook through to this Saturday.
