Intense tropical humidity, flooding rains and damaging winds are all in the forecast this weekend as a tropical cyclone leaves the tropics and moves directly into NZ.
At the time of recording this (late Friday morning) the cyclone was a Severe Category 3 storm and was likely to make landfall in a weakened state on Sunday night in the North Island (yet to be locked in).
