VIDEO: Severe Gales to blast NZ from the north & south

> From the WeatherWatch archives

NZ’s windy weather is moving in today, peaking Saturday in the North Island, then returns on Monday with another blast, this time more southerly.

The classic spring set-up is being enhanced by El Nino… which basically is like wearing a hat on a hat, making spring feel even more ‘spring-like’.

Australia’s south east also has some much needed wet weather thanks to a low pressure zone forming around Victoria, Tasmania and Bass Strait next week.

It’s a busy weather forecast for NZ and parts of Australia – we cover your weekend weather and the outlook to Wednesday next week as we say farewell to September and hello to October.

Programming Note: Our OCTOBER/SPRING ClimateWatch update is out later today, Friday Sep 29.
