Wet weather will linger in eastern areas of both the North Island and NSW / QLD in the coming days, with totals climbing over 80 to 100mm in some locations.
Low pressure is fairly weak but the rain is being slowed down by large highs to the east of both nations. High pressure will cross the South Island and a large portion of Australia in the coming days too – so the forecast is fairly settled overall (especially for this time of year).
We have the weather forecast for the public holidays for both Australia (Sept 22) and New Zealand (Sept 26) for the death of Queen Elizabeth.
But the rain for eastern areas is the main focus in today’s update.
