VIDEO: NZ’s ‘weird’ winter continues with more sub-tropical winds returning

> From the WeatherWatch archives

We have frosty mornings to kick off this week in some regions but sub-tropical winds are returning to both islands this week.

A large high, centred over NZ for Monday, will drift east this week helping to pull down the sub-tropical winds using it’s anticyclonic flow.

Another high over Aussie will try to come in next week – but over the weekend this may allow a rain maker to move in to northern NZ. It’s not yet locked in, but one to watch.
