A big high pressure zone is crossing NZ in the days ahead but this weekend we’ll share a similar weather pattern to Australia’s eastern coastline as E to NE winds kick in for the North Island and a milder northerly flow for the South Island bringing rain to the West Coast by Sunday or Monday.
Apart from a few showers most parts of NZ lean quite dry, with the eastern side of Northland most exposed to showers.
Australia has plenty more showers along the eastern seaboard but a weak cold front arrives in Sydney this weekend then falls apart.
