NZ has a breather day or two coming up thanks to high pressure north west of the country bringing calmer weather and milder nor’west winds too.
Wednesday will be average to warmer than average in a number of places.
Rain returns on Thursday/Friday and again Saturday/Sunday in two bursts out of the Southern Ocean – but in the form of classic more ‘normal’ cold fronts – not as severe as Monday was!
Some severe weather is possible, but more likely in the usual places (West Coast rain, Cook Strait winds, mountain snow etc).
