VIDEO: Mild weather before southern cold blast from Sunday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Weather conditions will be average to mild in a number of places in the days ahead but a wintry blast this Sunday to next Wednesday is heading towards southern NZ with snow on the hills and ranges and a biting wind chill for newborn lambs.

High pressure from Australia will help fuel the southerly in NZ – while helping keep conditions in Australia more settled, although more colder airflows will impact the southern states in the days ahead – it looks milder next week in Australia.
