Monday July 1st kicks off with a cold front crossing NZ, Tuesday has colder air moving in – then for about another week the nation will be under a mostly south-west airflow (although locally some places might have easterlies blowing for a time). The cold air is being dredged out of the Southern Ocean area by an enormous high pressure belt south of Adelaide and near Tasmania.
But NZ’s mountains and ranges mean not all regions in NZ will have cloud or wet weather – with sunshine in the forecast too (especially the West Coast, Nelson and Bay of Plenty).
We track the wind, rain, snow and showers – and how long this will linger for.
