Rain is about to move into the dry North Island but not before more heavy rain for the South Island over the next 24 to 48 hours.
As we head through the long weekend rain shifts into the North Island – but then breaks up and becomes patchy, meaning not everyone will get the rain they desire. Perhaps more significantly is the giant area of low pressure forming north of NZ next week.
It’s going to feed even more tropical, humid, air into northern NZ in particular (yes, even tougher sleeping conditions are coming) and late next week this large low pressure zone has a chance of bringing more rain into dry parts of the country.
