VIDEO: High pressure dominates NZ’s weather for over a week, but some twists

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A belt of high pressure stretching thousands of kilometres from west to east will slowly – slowly – move towards New Zealand this weekend, likely crossing directly over us by this weekend.

It will take all week to arrive – and much of next week to depart. As it arrives we have days ahead with cooler sou’west flows and showers but milder weather kicks in by day around Wednesday.

Next week, sub-tropical northerlies are likely again.
