It’s not exactly a normal start to winter this year with a high pressure system well above the usual size tracking through – and a forecast of the heaviest frosts so far of 2020 mixed in with sub-tropical winds as well.
Definitely not your normal set up!
Today’s video explains how a cold high brings in -5C temperatures (or colder) this weekend through the inland South Island – but how this same high just a day or so later will bring down sub-tropical winds.
