A burst of rain will move into Hawke’s Bay, linger for Friday, then slide back southwards on Saturday. Keep up to date with MetService warnings and watches.
Since we recorded this video MetService has issued an Orange Rain Warning for Hawke’s Bay with 150 to 200mm now possible.
Elsewhere the forecast is a bit messy next few days due to this set up in eastern NZ which will spillover into some western areas, however as we progress through the weekend high pressure returns to most places.
We have your forecast for NZ, and highlights around Australia and the tropics to Tuesday next week.

Hi Janet, the tropics are active and storms are highly likely (up in the tropics) during March. As of this morning there is still no clear modelling suggesting NZ needs to be seriously worrying about this. We’ll mention it more in our video today.
