More significant heavy rain will fall around the upper South Island/central NZ area across Friday and into Saturday – but this weekend the skies do finally dry up around the upper South Island and many parts of the country.
Next week more wet weather will return – but totals won’t be as high and there will be longer, drier, spells in between.
Australia has windy west to south west conditions blowing through bringing more wintry air to the entire southern coastline – and severe gales around VIC and TAS on Monday.
The tropics are fairly quiet at the moment with mostly easterlies and passing showers.
Also, at the end of this video, we also highlight this week (starting August 15) and compared 2022 with 2011…when it snowed in Auckland City.
