VIDEO: Heavy rain and high pressure for NZ

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure is dominating much of NZ and Australia – but rain is trapped in central western parts of NZ with some heavy falls, and parts of south eastern Australia have a windier west to south west change for a time.

Please note, for Friday Phil says eastern areas will be mostly dry – however Canterbury is expected to get 5 to 15mm as it ‘spills over’ from the West Coast. We’ll clarify this in our Wednesday video 🙂

Eastern parts of Australia have showers and SE winds.

The powerful high east of NZ is working with low pressure in the tropics (and later the Tasman Sea) to help produce the mild airflows in NZ…. places like Auckland have overnight lows over +18C for the next four nights ahead, this is more like the middle of summer.

Full forecast to Sunday…
