VIDEO: Equinox on Wednesday and typical spring weather arrives

> From the WeatherWatch archives

This week will be several degrees warmer than average in a number of regions but in true spring style a cool down is coming by the weekend.

The temperature ups and downs are normal in September but this week is definitely leaning warmer than usual due to sub-tropical winds and nor’westers.

By the weekend there is a chance of a cold southerly developing – but before then more mild weather in many places with most of the wet weather in the west of NZ.
