Special Update – Tropical Cyclone Ruby is today directly hitting New Caledonia with damaging winds and over 200mm of rain.
A series of lows in the Tasman Sea and NZ area are linked up to it – so while the cyclone may not directly hit NZ the next 36 hours have tropical fuelled downpours that could see some areas receive closer to 200mm (parts of Bay of Plenty) and localised slips and flooding possible in both main islands.

thanks for all your updates question please i live in the hutt valley are we going to see heavy downpours in the next few days i over this weather i do hope you can help and allay my fears thankyou so much
