Reliable models and forecasts have picked mild, moist north to northeast flow since beginning of week.

I seem to remember wasn’t there a similar situation in June 2006 when there was the warm moist easterlies and a very cold southerly hit Canterbury and there was a freak snowstorm that wasn’t predicted? Was the setup similar to this or different?

There are some similarties however at this stage the temperatures arent appearing quite so icy.
