A week of heavy downpours are on the way for dry parts of eastern Australia and while relief will again be hit and miss this is the second week full of thunderstorms and widespread showers in just the past month. El Nino tends to discourage as much rain – so right now this set up is fantastic for those who need it.

Of course, as we discuss, relief isn’t for everyone with some coastal areas missing the heaviest rain as it falls inland (but hopefully hits river and water catchment areas).

We cover the rain in more detail than previous updates – and as always we give you the biggest temperature ups and downs at various points around the continent.
