VIDEO: A new westerly weather pattern is locking in for early August

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The weekend weather and outlook for next week is one of high pressure to the north, low pressure to the south and windy westerlies in between.

Tasmania and the South Island are most exposed to the windy westerlies, which will see heavy rain for western areas.

The North Island of NZ and much of the rest of Australia looks drier – apart from a few coastal showers here and there. A cold night in NZ tonight too, with a chance of inland frosts.

We have your Weekend weather and the forecast to the end of next week…
