> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure is crossing NZ with temperatures over 8 degrees above normal in the eastern South Island – giving way to being a few degrees below normal on Thursday as a cold front moves up the country.

This cold front will fall apart as it moves into the North Island late week.

By the weekend high pressure returns bringing colder nights (some frosts on Friday/Saturday mornings) and then more mild weather.
