Update: Rain backs off for Saturday in north, but rain still forecast late Sun/Mon (+15 Maps)

Rain forecast this weekend is still on the way – but Saturday’s wet weather in some regions has backed off today to just a few showers.

Basically high pressure is still dominating the country and it won’t be until Sunday/Monday that the high will feed a wetter sub-tropical flow in to the north, with the help of a small depression just north of NZ.

Saturday looks drier – but later Sunday and into Monday looks wet for many in the north with rainfall totals in some spots possibly exceeding 100mm. Keep up to date with any possible weather warnings.
