Rain is returning to the South Island’s West Coast but it won’t be for long before it moves on to the North Island in the form of showers.

On Friday the weekend looks mostly dry, but some rain or showers will hover around coastal parts of the upper North Island.

Next week is looking windier and showery for many places.
