Tuesday’s weather (it’s Tuesday today for those on holiday) – Much cooler in the south, rain clouds flirt with the north

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It’s a cooler than normal day for the south and east of the South Island while clouds in the north limit how hot it may get there.

The north of NZ is still very warm with rain clouds offshore brushing northern areas. Rainfall will be low for most, if any at all. But heavy rain is just offshore, so worth monitoring in case it tracks closer. Heaviest rain today will be on the West Coast.

Cooler weather in the south means places like Dunedin and Christchurch will be below normal temperaturewise.
