Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Showers, clearing at night. Sunny spells at times. Strong to gale southwesterly winds, easing later on.
Highs: 14-15
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Showers, clearing in the evening. Snow may lower to 800m before clearing. Southerlies freshen up in the morning, becoming strong about the coast then easing overnight.
Highs: 8-14
Eastern North Island
Rain eases to showers in the afternoon as southwesterlies strengthen, rising to gale about the coast. Showers clear overnight.
Highs: 10-14
Wellington
Rain, clearing in the evening. Southerly winds strengthen, gales from late morning.

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning showers (morning rain for Marlborough then clearing around midday with sun breaking through. Southwesterly winds.

Canterbury
Morning rain, possibly heavy then easing to the odd shower in the afternoon, clearing evening. Snow to 600m. Afternoon sun breaks through for South Canterbury then possibly further north before dusk. Gusty strong southwesterlies ease at night.

Showers ease during the day, clearing afternoon but the odd one may linger till evening. Snow flurries to about 500m. Sunny spells develop from morning about Southland and Central Otago, then afternoon for coastal Otago. Southwesterly winds, fresh about the coast.
