Showers clear the North Island today with southwesterly winds meanwhile the South Island is mainly settled with a developing northerly airflow.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning showers clear then expect sunny spells, becoming mainly sunny for Bay Of Plenty. Southwesterlies.
Highs: 16-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any early showers clear then sunny spells increase, westerly winds tend more southwest for Taranaki.
Highs: 11-15

Eastern North Island

Morning showers (mainly south of Napier) clear away then sunny areas increase from afternoon. Southwesterlies die out in the evening.
Highs: 17-18

Wellington

Any early showers clear then sunny spells increase, southerlies tend to the north by midday.
Highs: 14-16

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with northerlies inland, northeasterly winds nearer the coast.
Highs: 13-16

West Coast

Mostly cloudy, showers for Fiordland from afternoon turning to rain in the evening. Buller has some sun with cloud thickening later in the day. Northerlies for South Westland, light west to southwest winds further north.
Highs: 11-14

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, overnight rain for Southland as northerlies change westerly.
Highs: 13-15
