A ridge of high pressure lies over New Zealand today being cast out from an anticyclone centred to our east in the Pacific Ocean.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, a few showers for Coromandel, Great Barrier Island and Northland (especially in the east). East to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 11-15

Eastern North Island

Any early cloud breaks Wairarapa then sunny, Hawkes Bay has a few morning showers clear then sun increases from afternoon, northeasterly winds. Gisborne sees showers for much of the day with southeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington

Mostly sunny, a few clouds possible. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny, light winds.
Highs: 13-16

Canterbury

Sunny, light winds.
Highs: 14-15

West Coast

Cloudy with showers or some rain south of about Greymouth, easing evening. Further north conditions are drier but there may be a shower overnight. Light north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny, some high cloud. Light winds.
Highs: 14-15
