Tuesday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It could wind up being a warm and dry day for parts of New Zealand today.

The best chance for seeing a settled day will be across the deep south.  Central Otago and inland parts of Southland should see plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid and upper 20’s.  Even a few lower 30’s are possible.  The coastal sections of the deep south will likely remain dry, however highs will be a bit cooler.  Upper teens and a few lower 20’s are expected.

A little further north, West Coast and Nelson could see a few passing showers this morning.  A better chance will come in for later today.  Canterbury and Marlborough should remain dry.  Highs across these regions should be around 20 to 25.

The North Island could see some showers fall on Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne.  Auckland could also see a few passing showers.

The rest of the island should be dry with a mix of sun and clouds.  High temperatures will range from 20 to 25.
