Upper North Island

Mostly sunny with some cloud at times mainly in the west this morning, southwest breezes picking up a bit around Auckland late afternoon. Winds tending more northerly about Bay Of Plenty. Sunny in Gisborne to start, southerlies freshen in the afternoon bringing some increasing cloud, the odd shower overnight.
HIGHS: 20-23.

Lower North Island

A mix of sunny areas and some cloud with westerly breezes, southerlies freshen from morning in Wellington and Wairarapa bringing cloudy areas then spreading into Hawkes Bay by midday. The odd shower develops in the Hawkes Bay ranges in the evening.
HIGHS: 18-19 about Wellington and Wairarapa. 20-23 elsewhere.

Upper South Island

Morning showers clear about Buller, sunny areas and some cloud otherwise on the West Coast with southwest breezes. Sunny areas and some cloud in Nelson and Marlborough with light winds and afternoon sea breezes, a few isolated showers may develop about inland hills and ranges later in the day then clearing at night. Skies may be a bit more cloudy right on the Marlborough coast however brightening up later in the afternoon. Any morning drizzle clears in Canterbury with sunny breaks then increasing, northeasterly breezes.
HIGHS: 18 on the West Coast, 21 in Nelson. 17-20 in Canterbury and Marlborough.

Lower South Island

A few showers develop in the morning about Southland with southwesterlies then clearing after midday, a mix of sunny areas and some cloud elsewhere with southwest winds dying out later in the evening.
HIGHS: 16-17. Low 20’s inland.
