Upper North Island

Southeasterly breezes for Northland with showers, rain about the far north. Areas of precipitation clearing away to the east late afternoon and evening. Southwesterly breezes about Auckland with sunny areas and some cloud, cloud thicker to the north with the chance of a shower there in the afternoon. Mostly sunny in the Waikato and about the Bay Of Plenty with light winds, northerly breezes about the Bay Of Plenty in the afternoon. Mostly sunny in Gisborne with some cloud, southerlies at night bring cloud and the odd shower.
HIGHS: 17-18 in Northland, 19-21 for Auckland through to Bay Of Plenty. 21-22 in Gisborne.

Lower North Island

Westerly breezes with cloudy areas in the west, the odd shower about Kapiti, Manawatu and southern Taranaki clears in the evening as winds tend more southerly. Sunny with some cloud about the Central North Island, southwesterly breezes. Sunny areas and some cloud in Wellington and Wairarapa with light winds, southerlies freshen during the afternoon bringing a few showers. Mostly sunny about Hawkes Bay, cloud and showers later at night with southerlies.
HIGHS: 16-17 for most. 21-22 about Hawkes Bay. High teens in Wairarapa.

Upper South Island

Southwesterly breezes on the West Coast, the odd morning shower clearing with sunny breaks then developing. Mostly sunny in Nelson, the odd evening shower possible about some inland hills and ranges, light winds. Sunny periods to start in Marlborough however some cloud from late morning with the odd shower also particularly on the coast. In the afternoon showers clearing from the coast however possibly developing further inland on some hills and ranges. Morning showers clear for most in Canterbury with sunny breaks then developing, southerly breezes tend more easterly during the afternoon. The odd shower may develop about the hills and ranges in North Canterbury in the afternoon and evening.
HIGHS: 18-19 about Nelson. Mid teens on the West Coast, Marlborough and in Canterbury.

Lower South Island

Southwesterly breezes on the West Coast, mostly sunny with some cloud. Breezy west to southwesterly winds about Southland, expect cloudy areas and some sun. The odd brief shower possible at times mainly this morning. Any showers about the Catlins clear this morning, sunny breaks then increase in coastal Otago with southwesterlies easing during the day. Mostly sunny in inland parts of Otago with light southwesterly breezes.
HIGHS: 15-16 about Southland, Otago and on the West Coast south of the Glaciers. High teen temperatures for some Central Otago areas.
